Long-Distance Towing

Vehicle Transport Beyond the Local Area

Some tows end at a shop across town. Others end three hundred miles away. CTR Towing handles long-distance towing out of Dallas for everything from a family sedan headed to a new city to a semi-truck or excavator bound for a shop or job site. We plan the route before we load, confirm pickup and drop-off details with you, and keep your vehicle secure throughout the trip. You’ll know when it’s leaving and when it should arrive.

Long-distance towing takes more coordination than a local call. We look at the vehicle’s size and condition, the distance, fuel and rest stops, and any road or weather issues along the way. That planning lets us give you a realistic timeline instead of a guess. One driver handles your vehicle from pickup to delivery, so it isn’t handed off between companies or left sitting for days at a transfer lot halfway through the trip.

When a Local Tow Isn't Far Enough

Plenty of situations call for a tow that goes past the city limits. Your car broke down on a road trip, and you’d rather have your own mechanic fix it back home. You bought a vehicle from a seller in another city. A dealership or specialty shop several hours away is the only one that works on your make. Or you’re relocating and need to move a vehicle that isn’t safe to drive that far.

Driving a vehicle with mechanical problems hundreds of miles can turn a repair into a replacement. Towing also saves wear on a vehicle you plan to sell, keeps miles off a lease, and skips a long first drive in a car that’s been in storage. For businesses, it means a disabled semi, box truck, or piece of equipment can reach a dealer, repair shop, or another job site without pulling a driver off the schedule.

Long-Distance Flatbed Towing

For most long trips, flatbed towing is the safest way to move a vehicle. All four wheels ride on the bed, so the tires, transmission, and suspension don’t take on hundreds of miles of wear. That’s especially important for EVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles, which can be damaged if you tow them with wheels on the ground. It’s also the right choice for classic cars, low-clearance vehicles, and anything that won’t start or steer.

Before we leave, the driver photographs the vehicle, secures it at multiple points, and walks you through the drop-off plan. On longer routes, we stop to check the straps and load, since tie-downs can loosen over hours of highway driving. When we arrive, we unload the vehicle and go over it with whoever is receiving it. If anything comes up during the trip, like weather or a road closure, we’ll let you know.

Local Dispatch, Long-Distance Reach

CTR Towing dispatches from Dallas, so your long-distance tow starts with a local pickup. We can pick up your vehicle from your home, a repair shop, a storage lot, an auction yard, or the roadside anywhere in the Dallas metro area. Because we know the city, we can plan around rush hour on I-35E and the Mixmaster and get your vehicle onto the highway without wasting the first hour of the trip in traffic.

From Dallas, the main routes run in every direction: I-45 south to Houston, I-35 to Austin and San Antonio, I-20 west toward Abilene and Midland, and I-30 east toward Texarkana. We also handle shorter regional trips to cities like Tyler, Waco, and Sherman. When you call, tell us the pickup and destination addresses, and we’ll give you a quote and an estimated arrival window. For trips outside Texas, call, and we’ll confirm availability and timing for your route.
